The Knockout Finals Day at Cheadle Golf Club was held on Sunday 25th September, which was the culmination of the Annual Knockout Competitions that commenced in late April. The day was enjoyed by all that were present.
The Mens Doubles Final saw Mr Vice Captain (Mark Gregory) and Jim Hall take on John Clarke and Andy Taylor, resulting in a win for Mark and Jim.
The Ladies Singles Final was contested between Louise Wildgoose and Debbie Owen. Not content with playing 18 holes, the ladies set off on Lap 2 of the course with the match being decided on the 20th hole in Debbie’s favour.
The Mixed Doubles Final was played between Mr and Lady Captain (Matt Withers and Jayne Warren) and their corresponding Vice Captains (Mark Gregory and Sue Shaw), with Matt and Jayne emerging victorious in the defence of the title that they won last year.
The Ladies Doubles Final had been played on an earlier date and was won by Louise Wildgoose and Emma Pike against Lynne Miller and Sandy Cundy, with the match going to the 18th. The Mens Singles Final (Stephen Abrahams versus Sam Parkin) and Seniors Final (Graham Plant versus Paul Warren) are still to be played.
