Cheadle Golf Club website has had a makeover, many changes are very obvious but some are less so. So here’s a breakdown of what’s changed and why.
Why the Changes?
The old site had been around for a long time, so we’ve brought the look and feel of the site up to date and – hopefully – made it easier for everyone to use.
The new site has been designed to help everyone find the information they want quickly and easily. We’ve laid out the information in a logical way across the top of the screen, using drop-down menus where appropriate, so you can access the page you need in as few clicks as possible.
What’s New?
The name: CheadleGolf.com
Now that Cheadle Golf Club has expanded to include the management of Bruntwood Pitch and Putt, we wanted our new site to include all things golf-related in Cheadle. So it’s appropriate that the domain name should reflect this expansion.
Just like moving house, anyone visiting our old site (cheadlegolfclub.com) is being redirected to our new online home, the old address will eventually be phased out, so update your bookmarks now.
The Homepage
As well as being filled with images of the Club, new features on the homepage include the live Course Status and Weather information, as well as the latest Tweets from @CheadleGolf
Mobile-Friendly
The new site is mobile friendly, it adjusts itself for easy reading on smartphones and tablets, as well as desktop and notebook screens.
What’s more, when you’re reading on your phone or tablet, contacting the right person at the Club is easy. One tap on a phone number or email address will prompt your device to open up the correct app, with the relevant number or email in place ready for you to call or write.
News Page
This is the new home of the Cheadle Golf Blog. Here you’ll be able to find all the latest news about the Club, the latest details on course conditions, competition reports, special offers and other notices.
New blog posts will also automatically appear on our Twitter and Facebook feeds. If you’re not already following us on Twitter and Facebook, please do. And if you don’t want to sign up to those services, you can still follow the Twitter feed at twitter.com/cheadlegolf and, of course, visit cheadlegolf.com/news for all the latest announcements and updates.
Search function
All information from the old site has been transferred across to the new one. During this process, everything was given a spring (or autumn) clean and any outdated information we found was updated, amended or removed as appropriate.
But if there’s something you can’t find, you can now easily search the site. Just click the magnifying glass icon to the right of the main menu. A search bar will open. Type in what you want to find and hit return. Easy!
New Email Addresses
As well as the website, we are now able to use CheadleGolf.com for all Club-related email. New email addresses to note are:
secretary@cheadlegolf.com – The Secretary, for all general enquiries including memberships, room hire and catering.
pro@cheadlegolf.com – The Club Pro, for First Tee bookings, lessons, shop enquiries and other course enquiries.
admin@cheadlegolf.com – Anything to do with the website and other admin issues.
As with the old site name, the old msn.com email address will be gradually phased out. So please add these new addresses to your address book.
All these contact details are listed on the Contact page.
Corrections, Suggestions and Questions
Nobody’s perfect and we recognise that in such a large site there may be something that we’ve missed or got wrong. So if you spot anything that doesn’t look quite right, please let us know by emailing admin@cheadlegolf.com
And If there’s anything you’d like to see included on the site, or if you have any questions at all, please do get in touch at the same address. We’ve built the site to serve our members, so all feedback is welcome. We hope you enjoy using it!
