In March 1896, 125years ago a group of 7 ladies met at the Clubhouse and formed the ladies section of Cheadle Golf Club

The first competition they organised was held on 30th March 1895.

This Tuesday 30th March 2021 we will start our year of celebrations by playing the first ladies competition after the covid lockdown! At this first game some ladies are being sponsored to play in Victorian costume.

At the first meeting of the Cheadle Golf Club Ladies Committee also arranged a match to be played against ladies from Didsbury Golf Club agreeing that “Carriages were to be sent for the Didsbury ladies”, this match is being replayed, carriages are not being sent but it is hoped that ladies from both clubs will play in Victorian dress.

Other events are being planned:

On the 12th September 2021 we are inviting all ladies who have been members to an open competition and a celebration meal.

If you know anyone who played at Cheadle Golf Club please ask them to get in touch with either Val Smith or Judith Sandford at  cheadlegolfclub@msn.com we would love to invite them to join our celebrations.
